Modern movement analysis plays an important role in different scientific fields, like veterinary medicine, physiotherapy, biology, biomechanics, psychology, neurology, biophysics, mechanics and sports-medicine.
The Movement Science Group  (University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna) creates an interdisciplinary platform which enables and aids in the cooperation of different scientific areas in the movement science. One focus is on the connection of veterinary biomechanics, physic, mechanics, human- and sports-medicine. Another focal point is the development of biomechanical models of the musculoskeletal system of the horse and dog.

On our homepage we introduce our staff and projects, invite you to a virtual tour through our movement-science-laboratory and give you plenty of information and links to the topic of biomechanics.

Special Issue on Movement Science in Animals (SIMSA)

The aim of the SIMSA is to present a worldwide platform for animal motion researchers to present their scientific work in a journal which is listed in the ISI Web of Knowledge and in Scopus. Therefore the Movement Science Group Vienna is happy to announce the launch of a special issue in the WTM (Wiener Tierärztliche Monatsschrift, Viennese Veterinary Monthly, http://www.wtm.at).
